Or (past and present), you could have run into her in the pit orchestra of local high school / community theatre productions, accompanying choral concerts, playing for variety-type fundraisers, even playing weekend services at a local church! But her secret passion is rock she'd been itching to do the rock thing again, and finally convinced Carl to give it one more shot. Throughout the years, you would have found her playing with various bands ranging from Top 40 to Swing. Having "keys" in a rock band enables it to expand its repertoire beyond what most are able to do, and Maureen Murray certainly fits the bill. The newest member of the band, Tom has an extensive background as a bassist, a veteran of numerous area bands, including Ecstasy and when he's not gigging with Soundbite, you will find him onstage with the regionally famous blues band, another local favorite, FX Project. We look forward to an exciting future with such a truly talented and enthusiastic musician! If Scott is the heart of the band, then bass player Tom Davies is the backbone. The "voice" of the guitar is certainly predominant and constitutes the heart of the Soundbite's classic rock repertoire, and Scott plays with a brilliance and verve well beyond his years! The newest member of Soundbite, he brings his love for the craft along with him as he continues his journey through the beautiful landscapes of music. Hailing from Hubbard, Ohio, guitarist/vocalist Scott Lowry has been playing music for fifteen years in various bands and projects throughout the area. Joe excels at this role and he's "lovin' every minute of it!" Moving into a "lead vocalist" slot was the next logical progression. Until he joined SOUND BITE in 2005, Joe had primarily done DJ / Karaoke work, having won multiple competitions for his outstanding renditions and going on to host Karaoke. Lead vocalsist Joe Weinel grew up in Mercer and lived in Grove City for quite awhile. SOUND BITE is comprised of five members: Joe Weinel-lead vocals, Scott Lowry-guitar & vocals, Tom Davies-bass guitar, Maureen Murray-keyboards & vocals, and T.J. Sure, everyone has personal favorites that they could hear endlessly without complaint, and there are universal "crowd pleasers" that never seem to get old, but what about the other songs?. Not just to be "cooler" - but because there are SO many good Classic Rocks songs out there! We wondered why bands seem to play the same ones over and over? What about all the rest of those great classic tunes?
